I made some clay dinosaurs in 3D and now there's this whole thing with 20k people who are way too into it.

Honestly it was an accident

I was supposed to be working on this commercial project. Client wanted "fun characters" which usually means I make some boring mascot that gets forgotten immediately. Instead I started doodling these chunky clay-looking dinosaurs during lunch breaks.

3am Decisions

You know that state where you've had too much coffee and start obsessing over tiny details? That's how the clay texture happened. Spent 6 hours getting the material just right.

Plot Twist

Posted one on Twitter as a "quick sketch." Woke up to 500 replies asking for more. My actual commercial project got 12 likes. Go figure.

So I kept making them. Each one got weirder. Rex started acting like he owns the place. Bronto became this zen master who judges everyone. Raptor just causes chaos for fun. They basically created their own personalities while I wasn't paying attention.

Somehow convinced people to put my clay dinosaurs on Solana and Sui. Not sure who's more surprised, me or the dinosaurs. Rex thinks he's Satoshi now.

More Chaos

They're starring in animated shorts now. I write scripts, they ignore them completely. Raptor improvises everything. The community loves it more than my carefully planned stuff.

Plot Thickens

People write fanfiction about my clay dinosaurs. Others make art. Some guy built a whole game. I just nod and pretend I planned this.

Turns out when you make something people actually connect with, they run with it in directions you never saw coming. I've learned to just go along for the ride.

Also learned that clay dinosaurs are surprisingly good at making friends. Who knew?
